The violinist Anna Marila was born in Helsinki (Finland). She studied in Rostock and Augsburg with Prof. Petru Munteanu and is currently preparing her master's degree at the Hoschule für Musik in Detmold with Prof. Ulrike-Anima Mathé.
As part of an Erasmus exchange, she studied a semester in Stavanger (Norway) in the class of Ellen Nisbeth.
Anna Marila was a scholarship holder of the Finnish foundation "Svenska Kulturfonden". In 2017 she won second prize at the Luigi Boccherini International Chamber Music Competition in Lucca, Italy, and was a finalist at the Juhani Heinonen Violin Competition in Jyväskylä.
She is a member of various youth and chamber orchestras, for example the Baltic Sea Youth Philharmonic under the musical direction of Kristjan Järvi. Since autumn 2018 she is a scholarship holder of the Dual Orchestra Academy Thuringia.
